A HOUSE A MANIFESTO WHAT WE ASKED THE 40 ARCHITECTS
THE INSTALLATION AIMS TO BE A COMMON GROUND WITH FOUR LEVELS OF READING: THE INTERIOR DIALOG OF THE DESIGNER WITH HIS OR HER OWN, THE STIMULATION OF A COMMON BATTLEFIELD OF COLLISION BETWEEN AUTHORITATIVE PROFESSIONALS AND A SMALL REALITY AS THE UNIVERSITY IN PIACENZA, A THIRD LAYER IN WHICH THE DIFFERENT KNOW-HOWS WILL BE SETTLED USING THE SAME DESIGN SCALE AND, IN A FINAL STAGE, A DIRECT OUT-STANDING OF PLANNERS IN FRONT OF THE USERS. WHY MANIFESTOS SHOULD EXIST? ARE THEY STILL USEFUL IN A GLOBALIZED PANORAMA OF TASTES AND CULTURES OR PERSIST A GEOGRAPHICAL, CULTURAL, ECONOMICAL SUBSTANTIAL DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE LANGUAGES OF DESIGN?OR ARE NO LONGER NECESSARY IN A JOB THAT DO NOT REFERS TO THE 'LONE GENIUS' BUT , ON THE CONTRARY, TO A SET OF ANTI-HEROIC GESTURES AS ANTHONY VIDLER STATED BACK IN 2011? IT IS TRUE THAT THE MANIFESTOS HAS BEEN TAMED, LOSING IN INVENTIVENESS, IN CAPACITY OF INVESTIGATION AN INTERPRETATION? MANIFESTO COMES FROM THE LATIN WORD MANIFESTUS, MANUS THE HAND AND FESTUS FENDO: TO DASH AGAINST. WITH THE SAME HAND WE DESIGN , WE THROW FORWARD IDEAS, IN ORDER TO IMPRESS FUTURE INTO THE MATTER THAT SURROUNDS US.
