The Oasi De Pinedo is a natural area whose name comes from the neapolitan aviator Francesco De Pinedo, a legend for his aerial acrobatics during the First World War. This island includes a large area of scrub along the river where many rare species of birds come to nest during migration. It's one of the few places where you can still admire the authentic landscape of the Po river. Following several invasive procedures such as the removal of vegetation, deforestation and intensive agriculture, the habitat of these rare species has been put at risk by forcing some birds to migrate to urban places. Migrant Garden comes from thinking about the condition of this landscape, and aims to give space and visibility to that situation by creating a new metaphorical oasis.
